Dear FSL Cluster Partners,

We would like to invite you kindly for an Ad-Hoc FSL Cluster Partners' Meeting with the Emergency Directors' Group [EDG] Mission on Monday 29 April 2024 at FAO conference room & virtually from 15:30 - 17:30 Sudan time. The EDG mission is composed of HQ Emergency Directors of key UN Agencies and INGOs and will take place between 28 April and 2 May. The objectives of the EDG mission agreed with the HCT are: [a] Engage with the humanitarian community and authorities/local partners in Port Sudan to determine where additional regional/HQ resources are needed to sustain operations;  [b] Support the HCT with fundraising/advocacy to strengthen the collective response; and [c] Identify ways of further addressing key access and related constraints and possibly expand operational space.

The tentative discussion agenda items include the following:

1. Introduction and opening remarks [10 minutes];
2. Brief presentation highlighting criticality of food insecurity and livelihood impoverishment, response and gaps, cluster coordination performance, challenges and constraints, and key asks [20 minutes];
3. Highlights on the scale and criticality of the food insecurity situation from the primary accounts of operating partners in the empirical field [30 minutes];
4. Strengthening inter-cluster coordination and complementarity among core clusters of FSL, Nutrition, Health, WASH plus others [10 minutes]; 
5. Discussion [questions, comments, & inputs of EDG members] on strengthening ways of addressing the ever-worsening food insecurity and livelihood impoverishment situation [40 minutes]; and
6. EDG mission members reflections on the next step actions by way of providing/sharing guiding stances/remarks to the FSL Cluster partners and stakeholders [10 minutes]
