The world’s leading humanitarian aid and disaster relief event - AidEx is featuring high-level conference sessions, workshops, discussion groups, impact sessions, case studies, relief and international development, and training programmes geared to solve the challenges in aid.

The Food Security Cluster has joined forces with 8 other Clusters (CCCM, Education, Health, Logistic, Nutrition, Protection, Shelter, Wash) to exhibit on four thematic areas. The exhibition will provide a space to all clusters to highlight their role and initiatives at global and country levels as well as to showcase inter-cluster collaboration in the field.  

The exhibition will aim at raising awareness on the role of clusters in humanitarian crises and provide a unique opportunity to shed light on the global crises, including the most neglected, the drivers of insecurity, the humanitarian community, and its commitment to support the affected populations. 

On day 2, there will be a Panel that will focus on two of the world's most neglected crises, Burkina Faso and DRC. This panel will highlight the role of the clusters and their positive impact in the field to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response in the face of emergencies or protracted crisis. Focusing on a selection of forgotten crises, the clusters will be invited to illustrate the coordination of the humanitarian responses in their respective areas of expertise and the possible synergies, as drivers of the crises interconnect. 

The discussion will illustrate as follows: 

  • The role and importance of clusters’ coordination of the humanitarian response. 
  • The challenges and gaps in the selected forgotten crises. 
  • The results achieved despite the level of challenges, which would not be possible without a coordinated and strategic management of the response. 
  • The interconnection between the drivers of the crises and the need for intersectoral response. 
  • The relevance of services clusters in support of the humanitarian response for more cost-effective solutions.
