Unprecedented Needs Call For Immediate Reponse, Special Global Partners' Meeting

Image

Food insecurity has reached unprecedented levels in several countries due to conflict, climate shocks, drought, impact of covid-19, increase food prices. gFSC along with FAO and WFP, both cluster lead agencies of Food Security clusters, are urging partners to mobilize and get alignment on the priority actions required to address the alarming needs and overwhelming challenges in a coordinated food security response.

We are particularly concerned about the IPC4 and/or + conditions populations are facing in Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Chad, Ethiopia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Yemen. The Food Security Clusters have already adapted the response to meet the increased levels of needs, however urgent funding and collaboration are needed to prevent further losses of lives and disruption of livelihoods.

The event will focus on the consolidated priority response, together with key country highlights. We would be pleased for you to join the discussion and find out more on how you can contribute.
